lab tribune Dental Tribune Middle East & Africa Edition | May-June 20152C 9 - 10 APRIL 2016 ...background gives lectures and courses on site at the customers and at the training center; this has led to a close relation and a trust from our customers that is based on the fact that AG deliv- ers functional solutions and not just promises - as all our releas- es throughout the years have shown stability in function and results. Last but not least we have a competent distributor network throughout the MEA region. In combination with direct local AG interaction we have a well- accepted and appreciated mix of education and support. This 08-09 May, the 10th CAD/ CAM & Digital Dentistry Int’l Conference by CAPPmea will be held in Dubai, how do you see the progression of CAD/ CAM over the last ten years and what has it meant for you and the company? CAD/CAM is the technology that determines the dental business today and changed the job de- scription of a dental technician immensely and within a very short time. If we take a look on the use of CAD/CAM in the den- tal business ten years ago and what can be realized today is that we recognize a revolution of a complete industry which happened and is still happen- ing. Ten years ago the amount of CAD/CAM-systems for den- tal labs has been very manage- able, today a dental technicians is faced with a jungle of sys- tems to fabricate its frameworks and restorations. At this point Amann Girrbach benefits from its more than 35 years of experi- ence in CNC technology and we do not offer single products but these complete processes just mentioned. The combination of both makes us able to offer one of the most versatile and techni- cally adapted CAD/CAM-system in the market. This experience values and knowledge in mechanical engi- neering and CAD/CAM makes it possible to produce our prod- ucts with a high proportion of in-house manufacturing which includes also the in-house pro- duction of the control units as the core of the machines. Thus we can adapt our system components to the very spe- cific requirements of the dental markets. We hope that we can remain in this leading position also in the future. Amann Girrbach continues to grow in the region. How im- portant is education for you and getting your newest tech- nologies across to your cus- tomers and potential clients? Education and knowledge trans- fer is essential for dental techni- cians in general as well as for our customers. Although our systems can be used intuitively we are talking about complex systems consisting of soft- and hardware components that can be combined with various ma- terials and techniques to get the best results. Furthermore our customers come from dif- ferent generations and differ sometimes strongly regarding the access to modern technolo- gies. For these reasons we offer a wide variety of education and training either by our local train- ing centers or online by webi- nars or video tutorials that can be downloaded from our home- page. IDS 2015 once again whit- nessed many novelties, which new systems will AG be ex- porting to the MEA region? How will you educate your cli- ents to see the benefits? As we have seen at the IDS this year our inhouse milling ma- chines Ceramill Motion 2 and Ceramill Mikro – a new small 4-axes unit for dry millable ma- terial - in combination with the diversity of CAD/CAM materials is of great interest to our cus- tomers in MEA region. Inadditiontoourpresenceinthe CNC technology we are working on new materials such as the super-high translucent zirconia Ceramill Zolid FX that could be quite successful in MEA. It is easy to process but it is also a perfect material to achieve high aesthetic results in the an- terior regions as it was previ- ously only possible with lithium disilicate. At the same time this zirconia does not undergo age- ing but maintains it strength over the long term. In accord- ance with the integrated product philosophy of Amann Girrbach, Ceramill Zolid FX is not a single productbutawholesystemsolu- tion consisting of materials and method. A coordinated staining concept will therefore soon be available which enables precise, reliable staining according to the VITA classical shade guide. Customers who want to process this material can visit our train- ing course or take a look in our video tutorials or step-by-step guidelines. What are the plans for the rest of this year and 2016 for Amann Girrbach in the MEA region? Surely we strive to strengthen our sales activities so we will continue supporting our cus- tomers in the region and provide them with the latest knowledge and updates on our novelties. This year we will be renewing our training center at the An- toninUniversityandhaveacom- plete new setup that can match the demand and the growth of the region. This way we will be able to receive more and more of our customers. At the moment the project is already in process and we will announce it as soon as it has reached its final stage. Additionally we are planning to have a helpdesk based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be able to assist our biggest in- stalled base in the region in par- allel with our local distributor.
