I case report _ implant rehabilitation _Initial situation Our patient was a 55-year-old female who wanted her impaired chewing function to be re- stored. Four years before she came to my clinic, the teeth in her mandible were extracted and replaced withafullprosthesisduetoadvancingperiodontitis (Fig. 1). The teeth in the maxilla also fell victim to periodontitis (Fig. 2) and had to be removed. The patient was otherwise in good health. In addition to restoring chewing function, she wanted in particular to overcome the social handi- cap associated with the removable prosthesis. 18 I CAD/CAM 4_2015 Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Restoring chewing function, comfort and self-confidence Authors_ Dr Fidel Ruggia & René Wöhrle, Switzerland CAD0415_18-22_Ruggia 06.11.15 11:58 Seite 1 CAD0415_18-22_Ruggia 06.11.1511:58 Seite 1
