news12 Show Review IDS Cologne 2015 n Having seen its premiere at IDS 2015, the compact and quiet intra- oral scanner CS 7200 from Care- stream is especially designed for use in dental surgeries. In addition to its showing its complete imaging line and CAD/CAM system CS solutions, the company also made itself stand out in Cologne by giving visitors the opportunity to discuss practice-re- latedissueswithanumberofexperts at its booth. With only 13 cm, the CS 7200 scanner is even smaller in size than a pad coffee maker. The low-noise scan- ning process is another reason to get the CS 7200 in the treatment room, the company said. According to Care- stream,ittakesonlyeightsecondsfor the scanned image to appear in the image processing software on a PC. Suitable for plate sizes 0, 1 and 2, the CS 7200 is supposed to be the ideal tool for every day intraoral im- agingneedsinsinglepractices.Itcan be directly linked up to a PC via an USB port and operated under day- light. Carestream said that the CS 7200 also features the same ex- traordinary image quality the com- pany is known for but at a much lower price. Moreover, Carestream’s dental imaging software allows users to optimise pictures with the click of a mouse button. It features a number of powerful and user- friendly image processing tools thus facilitating reliable diagnosis, the company said. In addition to Carestream’s com- plete offering of dental imaging solu- tions, clinicians visiting IDS were able to discover the revolutionary CAD/CAM system „CS solutions“ that the company said further sub- stantiates its competency in the de- velopment of innovative technolo- gies even in the field of prosthetics. To help visitors to find out more about its innovative products, the company offered specially arranged consulting areas in which dentists and care stream product specialists provided know how and advice in ar- eas like diagnostics. „What CBCT type suits one’s own practice best, how useful are mobile solutionsorwhatpotentialforoptimi- sation does the own workflow offer— there was no better way to find out,“ concluded Carestream Dental Mar- keting Manager Frank Bartsch. Bien-AirDentalexhib- itedlatestinnovations indentistry n At the 2015 International Dental Show (IDS), Bien-Air Dental intro- duced a number of new products, in- cluding a powerful turbine, a micro- motor control unit and an innovative handpiece, which aim to facilitate the daily work in dental practices signifi- cantly. Dental Tribune International had the opportunity to speak with Marco Gallina, Vice-President of Mar- keting and Product Management at Bien-Air Dental, at the company’s booth at IDS. With its new high-power turbine called Tornado, Bien-Air aims to give dentists more time. In the interview, Gallina explained: “The 30 W Tornado turbine is the industry’s most power- ful turbine and it is the first time we are showcasing it at a dental fair.” Ac- cording to the Swiss manufacturer, Tornado enables faster dental proce- dures and will thus benefit efficiency and profitability of dental clinics around the world. “It helps alleviate the number one dentist concern—lack of time—while promising users the level of quality and reliability they have come to expect from our com- pany,” Gallina said. “The main advan- tage of the turbine is that dentist can save a lot of time. When preparing a crown,forexample,heorshecansave up to 10 minutes per patient.” The company further announced the upcoming launch of Optima, a sys- tem designed to boost performance and efficiency for the most common dental procedures. Composed of a tabletop control unit and Bien-Air’s MCX brushless LED micromotor, the Optima system gives dental profes- sionals the option to upgrade their treatment units with the latest electri- cally driven technology at an afford- able price. “Optima is one of the best micro- motors in the market. However, it is veryeasytooperate,”accordingtoGal- lina. The system will be available in a number of bright colours, such as pink, green, blue and orange. “We are extremely proud of the design of the product,” he stated. In addition, Bien-Air presented EVO.15.Accordingtothecompany,itis the safest contra-angle on the market today, and helps avoid cheek burns thatcanbecausedbyoverheatedelec- trical dental handpieces. “Incontrastwithotherhigh-speed handpieces, which can heat up to 80 °C, our product is equipped with the patented COOLTOUCH+ heat-ar- resting technology. And it has been proven that the temperature of the EVO.15remainsverystableandnever exceeds human body temperature,” Gallina said. Moreover, EVO.15 features a con- siderably smaller and lighter shock- proof head, a new spray/illumination system, and an improved bur-locking system, among other innovative fea- tures. The products will be available worldwide in regions in which Bien- Air products are distributed at the be- ginning of May this year. Bien-Air also recently launched ClubBien-Air,aspecialwebsitewhere dentistscanloganyproblemstheyen- counter with the products. “Theycanreporttheirproblemon- lineandwewilltakecareoftherepair.
