Dental Tribune Asia Pacifi c Edition | 7+8/2017 TRENDS & APPLICATIONS 15 12 13 14 Figs. 12 & 13: After insertion of the crowns: the restoration blended seamlessly into the oral environment. It was possible to fulfi l the aesthetic and functional demands.—Fig. 14: Representation of the surface textures and characteristics. IPS e.max Ceram is a low-fus- ing ceramic. In order to adjust the surface texture during the glaze fi ring, it is necessary to handle it carefully and manage the fi ring programs. In cases such as this, in which a distinctive characterisa- tion is required, the stain-fi ring sequence must be lengthened. Texture control then becomes more diffi cult. In view of this, IPS Ivocolor is a good product that al- lows characterisation at a low tem- perature. It can therefore be ap- plied without losing the surface texture. During the fi nal glaze adjustment, the delicate surface characterisations and the stained areas were retained. By applying the individual characteristics of natural teeth, we aimed to create a natural appearance. IPS e.max Ceram Selection was also used here. A successful combination of light transmission and refl ection was achieved: a perfect reproduc- tion of natural shade with the ef- fect of depth (Figs. 12–14). Colusio The most important advan- tage of IPS e.max Press is the com- bination of a high level of aesthet- ics and exceptional strength. Inci- dent light on IPS e.max lithium disilicate behaves in a similar way to that on natural teeth. This en- sures maximum aesthetics. In ad- dition, the material provides ideas and inspiration. The integration of IPS e.max Ceram Selection and IPS Ivocolor, as well as IPS e.max Ceram Power Dentin and Power Incisal ceramic, greatly expands the range of aesthetic possibili- ties. In the future, the clinical in- dications for the IPS e.max system will be increased even further.
