from page one 3 Greater New York Dental Meeting — Nov. 28, 2016 dentist with years of dental-mission experience. A box of vegetables inspired him to construct a portable dental chair of the same material to help save his back from the stress of working with patients sitting in lawn chairs or reclining on tables. The result, which you can see in the Christian Dental Society booth (No. 5328), can be shipped anywhere intheworldinaboxthatconvertsinto a chairside table. The chair weighs 15 pounds, can be assembled in minutes and supports up to 400 pounds. The booth has an entire portable opera- tory on display that can be trans- ported anywhere in four 50-pound bags (including a pressure cooker for instrument sterilization). At the other end of the spectrum, you can step across the aisle to the Plameca booth (No. 5428) and see a chair that has its digital-based instru- ments, including scanning monitor, integrally linked to the practices clin- ical- and practice-management soft- ware — which, when further linked to the cloud, will enable monitoring of all activity in the chair from virtually anywhere in the world. Extremes on the spectrum can be seen throughout the Greater New York Dental meeting exhibit hall, with every aspect of dentistry cov- ered along with every one of patients’ wide-ranging needs. In the Bisco booth, No. 1200, you can learn about its TheraCem self- adhesive resin cement with calcium and fluoride release. A buy-one-get- one-free introductory offer is avail- abletoGNYDMattendees.Or,ifyou’re looking for something a bit more versatileforyourdentalmissiondeep in a Peruvian jungle, there’s German GlueinboothNo.5826.Thisindustrial adhesive can bond anything, from a broker hammer to a chipped tooth. Stop by and have Dmitry Borovinsky give you a demonstration. Also in the booth is E-Z Eye Doctor lens cleaner. The anti-fog, scratch- filler solution can be used on glasses, loupes, touch screens, CD, DVD disks and who-know-what-else. Bring your scratched-up glasses by the booth to see for yourself. Clearer, more comfortable vision also can be found in booths No. 1813 and No. 2012, where Designs for Vision has its new LED WireLess and LED WireLess mini headlights on dis- play. The modular design enables you to attach these ultraportable lights to any loupe or other eyewear of your choice, with no wires or battery back involved. An ultraportable headlight would be well suited for dental-mission work, such as that coordinated by Remote Area Medical, which can be found in booth No. 431. The organiza- tion operates mobile medical, dental and vision clinics in underserved areas across the world, most lasting two to five days. There are plenty of other ways to keep your practice, patients and the planet a bit healthier, and many can be found in the GNYDM exhibit hall aisles in the three days still ahead.
