By today Staff n A record 42 German dental com- panies are exhibiting their products and services here at the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM). Ahead of GNYDM, today spoke with Rolf Kleiner, area sales manager for Schick Dental, about the importance of the relationship between the Ger- man and American dental industries. What are the strengths of the German dental industry, and how are these relevant for the U.S. market? Somethingsthatimmediatelycometo mind are our reliability and decades of experience. Germany is a leader in dental technology, with state-of-the- art products as well as an emphasis on tradition, with family businesses often being operated by the second or third generation. These things can easily be adapted to the U.S. market. How do you see the relationship between the German and American dental industries progressing? The 2016 GNYDM will be the larg- est presentation of German dental technology ever in North America. This is a clear statement of our close economic cooperation and the will to cement ties. What can Schick Dental offer the American dental industry? How important is this market to your company? Since 1963, Schick has stood for innovation and premium products for dental technicians. Our focus is on user-oriented, practical solutions, developed in close collaboration with leading dental technicians and cus- tomized for each market. With more than 50 years of experi- ence, Schick is well able to address all requests from this very special and important market. We are attending several shows in the United States this year, and the 2016 GNYDM is the most important one. The centennial of the VDDI and the Science Lab — a special future- themed show — will be highlights, as we will be given the opportunity to present our company’s expertise to the broader public — in a unique man- ner! The U.S. market is a very tough and competitive one, but Schick Den- tal’s exceptional products and skills are a key advantage. What products will Schick be exhibiting at GNYDM? We will be presenting visitors with QUBE, our latest development in labo- ratory motor technology. As a leading innovator in the dental industry, we have set a new benchmark in opti- mizing and perfecting the laboratory workstation with QUBE. At the heart of the system is an intelligent operating satellite con- trolled by a touch-sensitive surface. All functions and parameters can be called up and controlled with this satellite.
