I overview 26 I implants2_2014 of DICOM data sets with the digital capture of the associated surface structures, e.g. anatomical model. With the situation model the real surface profile is obtained. If an aesthetic modelling (wax- up) is scanned and matched additionally, the plannedpositionoftheimplantsbothinaxialdirec- tionaswellasinmesial/distalorientationcanbede- termined optimally (Figs. 1, 2a & b). 3-Ddatamatching The comparison of the real positions of the in- serted implants in the jaw with the virtual planning isdonebymatchingthe3-DX-rayplanningcaptur- ingwiththepost-op3-Dpicture.Hereitisirrelevant whether the planning and the post-op 3-D captur- ingcomefromthesamedevicetype(DVT/CT)ornot. This method also allows for a standardised follow- up (Fig. 3).
