They have succeeded in creating a community, a family, that transcends the bor- ders of the country. They created a business card for Romanian dentistry, rec- ognised and respected everywhere. Whole generations of dental school graduates, thousands of dentists, have complemented the passion of this team by participating in dozens of congresses, hundreds of courses and practical workshops, totalling thou- sands of hours of continuing medical education. Passion and professionalism are traits that give strength to our team. Ap- parently we are few, divided into nationwide branches in the main university centres, but in fact, there are many of us, because each one of you who reads these lines and who attends our events is the true power that bears us up, higher and higher. Every annual meeting is a challenge. Nineteen years ago, the challenge was to bring the notion of dental aesthetics to the forefront. Twelve years ago, we were struggling to hold an event during the eruption of a volcano that had paralysed the whole of Europe. Ten years ago, the challenge arose from hav- ing to organise hundreds of annual events, simultaneously most of the time, within an EU project that had no equivalent in the world of dental medicine dental medicine online, providing live broadcasts from all over the world. The pandemic we have been through in the last two years has not stopped us; it has forced us to increase the standards of organisation and thus allowed us This year, we have a war on our borders, just a few hundred kilometres from where we are. History and experience have shown us that challenges have continued to - tory and experience have also shown us that we will overcome them, being united and always one step ahead. Thank you for your involvement in the re- cent campaign to support displaced Ukrainians, through the provision of goods, founds and free emergency treatment to those in distress. We have been able to rise to the challenges by virtue of teamwork, pro- fessionalism, family, passion, dedication, involvement and innovation. All these things come down to just four letters: SSER—the Society of Esthetic Dentistry in Romania. But there is something else: a little magic that unites all these and gives us the strength to move forward. I wish for you to discover this magic during the three days of science at two years of isolation, to engage and enjoy like never before. I invite you to live the heart and soul of SSER.
