LET’S DO THIS 7from page 1 because for three days, Thursday through Saturday, CDA is offering a wide range of educational program- ming, an exhibit hall filled with our industry’s latest products and tech- nology, plus many opportunities for social interaction. On the show floor, attendees can meet face-to-face with company reps who are showcasing products, ser- vices and technology. Dental profes- sionals can interact with the experts and even participate in activities to win prizes. The exhibit hall is open Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. With more courses, speakers and events offered this time around, CDA President Judee Tippett-Whyte, DDS, wants to make sure attendees experi- ence everything CDA Presents has to offer. She is offering several tips on how you can make the most of your CDA Presents experience. “The first step to planning your CDA Presents schedule is identify- ing your goals for the convention,” Tippett-Whyte says. “Think about your purpose for attending, what you want to learn and what you want your biggest takeaway to be. Once you’ve figured that out, start looking for courses and events that will help you accomplish that goal.” Tippett-Whyte also recommends setting aside time to visit with exhib- iting companies. Whether virtually or in person, you have the chance to network with exhibitors, talk with industry experts about the latest dental products and services and participate in daily prize giveaways. “As we return to our in-person con- ventions and continue to offer virtual options, it means a lot that attendees support our exhibitors who work hard to bring a high-quality shop- ping experience to CDA Presents,” she said. To make the most of your expe- rience, Tippett-Whyte recommends 5 ADHP dental students pause for a commemorative group photo before heading into the CDA Presents at Moscone South in San Francisco during the 2018 meetng. using the meeting’s online plan- ner (ebusiness.cda.org/ebusiness/ speaker/speakerschedule) to map out a schedule. Courses can be filtered by topic, speaker, audience or by the time and day the course is offered. The planning tool also offers down- loadable course materials and details of how many C.E. credits each course is worth. You can view an interactive floor map of the convention, plus see course listings, speaker information and more, by downloading the meet- ing’s free app, available by searching for “CDA Presents.” The virtual platform is open now and will stay online until Monday, Oct. 11. Here in San Francisco, you can visit CDA Foundation staff at the CDA Member Benefits Center (booth No. 716). Learn more about the impact of foundation programs and ways you can support the foundation through donations or volunteer opportunities. Individuals who donate on-site at the convention will walk away with a T-shirt as a “thank you” from the foundation. 2. Make a one-time or ongoing donation online. It’s easy to make an individual donation online. Donors can choose to contribute one time only or monthly — for the year or on an ongoing basis. You can donate for as little as $5 and have the option to con- tribute anonymously or in someone’s honor or memory. To donate, visit https://ebusiness.cda.org/ebusiness/ fundraising. 3. Give to the foundation cash-free by shopping at Amazon. When you shop online through AmazonSmile (https://smile.amazon.com/), Amazon will automatically donate 0.5 percent of the price of your eligible purchases to your favorite charitable organiza- tion. To participate, just choose the CDA Foundation, fill your list and let the donations add up at no extra cost. As the philanthropic arm of the California Dental Association, the CDA Foundation reduces barriers to oral health care in underserved communities through its two flag- ship programs, CDA Cares and the Student Loan Repayment Grant, plus other annual grants and awards for dentists, educators and organizations who are committed to CDA’s mission, which is to improve the oral health of all Californians by supporting the dental profession in its efforts to meet community needs.
