Henry, BDSc, MSD, DDSc (hc), a prosthodontist from Chittering, Australia, is the 13th recipient of the Nobel Biocare Brånemark Osseointegration Award. He will receive this distinguished award on March 19 during the opening symposium of the Academy of Osseointegration’s (AO) 2020 Annual Meeting in Seattle. Made possible by a grant from Nobel Biocare, this annual award is bestowed by the Osseointegration Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Osseointegration. It honors an individual whose contributions to implant dentistry are exemplary in any or all of the foundation’s mission categories: research, education and charitable causes. Photo/Provided by AO Dr. Henry holds professorial and research fellowship appointments at several universities. A retired AO fellow, he was a director on the AO board from 1998-2001. He has conducted continuing education pro- grams in 43 countries, is a contributor to eight textbooks and author/ co-author of 110 publications. In 1982, Henry established the Perth Osseointegration Training Centre, subsequently designated as the Brånemark Centre, Australia. On March 21, Henry will provide an exclusive presentation entitled, “Some Aspects of Dogma and Confirmation Bias” at the annual Tita- nium Society breakfast meeting.
