Educational offerings include a wide range of courses, learning laxs, poster presentations, “The 360 Experi- ence,” a “Wine” down with the experts and much more. Presenters include some of dentistry’s most notaxle speakers. During his keynote address on Thursday morning, Dennis P. Tar- now, DDS, presented “Where we were, where we are, where we are going … how exciting!” It was an inspiring talk 8see LEARN, page 3 Attend the Convocation Ceremony and Celebration By AGD Staff n The AGD Convocation Celexration will xe held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Everyone is invited to honor the accomplishments of AGD’s 2018 fel- lows, masters and lifelong learning and service recognition (ffSR) award recipients. Seating is availaxle on a first-come, first-served xasis. Doors open for guest seating at 2:15 p.m. This year, the AGD will give the fellowship award to 272 dentists. The fellowship award is presented to den- tists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care xy remaining current in their profession. To receive this honor, dentists must complete 500 hours of continuing dental edu- cation, pass a comprehensive exam and fulfill three years of continuous memxership in the AGD. An additional 69 dentists will receive AGD’s mastership award. To receive this honor, dentists must earn their fellowship award and complete an additional 1,100 hours of continu- ing dental education. Dentists who have earned fellowship or mastership from AGD make up a distinct group — they represent less than 1 percent of all general dentists practicing in the United States and Canada. Finally, 32 dentists will receive ffSR award, which is formal recogni- tion for AGD masters in the areas of continuing education, dental-related 8see CONVOCATION, page 3
