Closing summary + socials There is one attractive activity that gathers us all dental students around the world to meet every year. The most special and greatest international dental student event that every IADS member looks forward to. This year we had the opportunity to visit the capital of a renowned land, the land of singing and wonderful dancing, of traditional Matador and La Tomatina. Let's guess where it is.. ladies and gentlemen, it’s Madrid, Spain - host of the 64th IADS annual congress in August 2017! The congress was opened by Dr. Patrick Hescot, President of FDI who delivered an impressive speech for all the delegates. Next, during every IADS Congress a General Assembly takes place where in all those in leadership positions and delegates present their reports and discuss important issues like the future of their organizations and plan for the coming year to fill it with various dental events. On Tuesday 29.08.2017 the new board of officials for the 2017/2018 term was elected:Executive Committee, Standing Committee, & Regional Directors. The Dental Olympic competition consisted of soap carving, wire bending, and suturing. The winning group was from the Meleka-Manipal Medical College, Malaysia. The General Assembly also approved membership applications of four new member organizations representing interests of dental students in different parts of the world.
