NOVEMBER2017 On Wednesday, we enjoyed the Bosphorus with a whole-day boat trip event where we had the chance to swim and sunbath under the sound of our DJ’s lovely music selection. The day ended in Ortaköy, where we ate a unique Turkish Street food and roamed freelyfor the rest of our free-time. On Thursday, Dr. Özgür Bultan impressed us with his magnificent presentation, titled “Impress your patient” then followed by PhD student in Prosthodontics Dr. Dilara Şeyma Alpkılıç’s lecture on “Adhesion and cementation”. In the afternoon we attended the “Digital Impression, Intraoral Scanners” workshop sponsored by GC and the “Conventional Impression” workshop sponsored by Zhermack and Straumann. In these workshops, students took both digital and conventional impressions from resin models so that they could compare the finesse and accuracy of each type of impression. As we finished our work, we walked through famous places like Taksim, İstiklal Street and Galata Tower; a heaven for photographers and international tourists. After the free time, we had our dinner right under the Galata bridge to get a unique Istanbul experience. On Friday, Dr. Melek Altan Korhan made a presentation titled “ Becoming Genius in Dentistry”, which was followed by “Oral Hygiene” workshop sponsored by P&G. At the end of the program, participants received their well-earned certificates from the Faculty Dean Prof.Dr. Gülsüm Ak. On Friday night, it was time for our Gala Dinner. After experiencing Turkish and Istanbul culture for days, we spiced up the Friday night with a Latin Dance Night, where participants danced to the warm and joyful rhythms of Salsa and Bachata. On Saturday we visited Prince’s Islands by ferry. Some participants rode bikes around the island, some of them took tours with island’s famous phaetons and some of them preferred to swim. After this sunny day, we had Turkish style wraps and went straight to the hotel to get ready for a fun night-out in Karaköy, where we danced to electronic music. On Sunday, the 30th of July, it was time to say goodbye to each other, hoping to meet again very soon. 21
