As our guests arrived, the camp officially started with an Exchange Fair, in which all the participants had their chances to introduce their traditional food and music to other participants from the other countries on Sunday, 23rd of July. 32 participants from Bulgaria, Algeria, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Malaysia, Egypt, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan and Greece, 8 participants from the host country-Turkey attended the fair and with their collective efforts the Exchange Fair became a parade of cultures. NOVEMBER2017 On Monday we started the day with a tour of the faculty.Our participants visited the clinics the lecture rooms and the labs to get a taste of the faculty. Afterwards Prof. Dr. Sabire İşler, the vice-dean of the Faculty of Dentistry welcomed the students with her opening speech. Afterwards we moved on to the first lecture on Dental Photography given by Dr. Serhat Köken, who is an alumnus of Marmara University. After the short coffee break, the second lecture titled “A complicated relationship: Jaw relations” was given by Dr. Berk Kaffaf, who is a PhD student in Prosthodontics Department in Istanbul University. After lunch, all the participants were divided into two groups for the two different workshops. While one group took the “Photography” workshop, the other group took the “Clear Appliances” workshop, which was sponsored by Orthere. In the afternoon, after the workshops, we visited the historical places, walked around the historical beauties and and ended the sightseeing with a famous meatball dish in Sultan Ahmet’s magical and historical atmosphere. On Tuesday, lectures started with “Treatment Planning” given by Dr. Goncagül Akkuş. After the lecture and lunch, students moved to the workshop hall for the “Mock-up” workshop. During this workshop -sponsored by GC- dental students tried to apply Mock-ups on each other which created funny atmosphere as they started to apply fantasy mock-ups like vampire and bunny teeth. After sightseeing for the day, the dinner was at Sultan Ahmet with an amazing view of the Golden Horn, which blew everyone’s mind. Following the dinner, we enjoyed the rest of time in karaoke where we saw amazing singing performances. 20
