(Photo/Provided by 3DISC) AD 3DISC showcases its latest innovation By 3DISC Staff n Previewed at the International Dental Show in March, 3DISC’s new 3-D scanner, Heron IOS, has already generated a great deal of interest, according to the company. Now, the imaging company is demonstrating the market-ready scanner to the public for the first time here at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. After a two-year development pro- cess, 3DISC is showcasing the new scanner together with the Quantor- Clinic software. According to the company, this is a major milestone as it moves forward into the final phase of the project, bringing the scanner to market and finally into dental clinics. Inviting potential partners and distributors to experience the scan- ner in action, Deputy Group CEO of 3DISC Thomas Weldingh said, “We have had an exciting year and have worked hard on keeping development on schedule. I am pleased to announce that we are ready to market the Heron IOS. We are keen to meet with poten- tial partners and distributors at the GNYDM this month and expect to ship the first scanners to clinics early in the second quarter of 2018.” Innovative technology Heron IOS is a 3-D intraoral scanner created for the modern dental prac- tice, according to the company. A smart solution for digital impression taking, the scanner has a small, light- weight design and ergonomic grip and features an open-format output for the widest integration. According to 3DISC, the break- through product’s intuitive workflow has the potential for improved clinic productivity and patient care — essen- tial factors for a good return on invest- ment. The scanner comes with 3DISC’s QuantorClinic software package, which fully supports order creation, scanning and file sharing with dental laboratories and production facili- ties.
