a4 E V EN T S Dental Tribune U.S. Edition | October 2017 IAPA event explores neuromuscular dentistry Annual conference is scheduled for Oct. 26–28 at the LVI Institute campus in Las Vegas With an Oktoberfest theme, the Inter- national Association of Physiologic Aes- thetics is holding its 2017 annual meet- ing from Oct. 26–28 at the LVI Campus in Las Vegas. Dental professionals are invited to learn more about the IAPA, LVI Institute and the conference by visiting the IAPA meeting website at www.theiapa.com/ meeting-schedule. The annual event offers lectures, panel discussions and workshops for dental professionals and their team members. The event is open to those who have achieved the highest levels of dental training as well as those just beginning to explore esthetic, occlusion and neuro- muscular dentistry. Three full days of education Organizers say the meeting will enable attendees to return to their practices ready to provide patients with notably increased quality of care. Conference attendees will learn com- prehensive esthetic treatment skills, net- work with a wide variety of health care professionals and be introduced to prov- en practice management techniques — all of which support a goal of building a successful, comprehensive esthetic ap- AD proach to providing dental care. The event includes an exhibit hall with daily hours. Highlights among the meet- ing’s education offerings include: “Lead- ership From the Inside Out” with Dr. Eliz- abeth Lombardo; “Master’s Pearls Panel” moderated by Dr. Bill Dickerson and fea- turing LVI masters panelists Dr. Joe Bar- ton, Dr. Brad Durham, Dr. Lori Kemmet, Dr. David Miller and Dr. Michael Reece; “Creating the Prolific Physiologic Prac- tice” with Dr. Bill Dickerson; “Dental Slav- ery: School Debt or Corporate Practice?” with Dr. Omer Reed; and “The Systemic Theory of Dental Caries and the Role of Nutrition” with Dr. Ken Southward. About IAPA Prior to the inception of the IAPA, there were a limited number of organizations that dentists committed to furthering their education and advancing the pro- fession could affiliate. Recognizing this void and left with the impression that existing dental groups were losing touch with their member- ship, the IAPA was created.
