ENDO TRIBUNE The World’s Endodontic Newspaper · U.S. Edition THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2017 — Vol. 2, No. 2 www.dental-tribune.com Much to explore Endodontic specialists convene in New Orleans for AAE17 By Fred Michmershuizen, Endo Tribune staff It’s AAE17, and thousands of endo- dontists from across the country and around the world have gath- ered here in New Orleans to partake in educational opportunities, to learn about the latest technological advances and to have some fun. One of the many highlights offered up at the annual session of the American As- sociation of Endodontists on Wednesday was the General Session, held in the af- ternoon, featuring local residents James Carville and Mary Matalin, who regaled attendees in a no-holds-barred back and forth on today’s charged political cli- mate. It was not to be missed. In the lecture halls, meeting attendees could partake in a multitude of educa- tional opportunities being offered in a number of different tracks, including “Surgical,” “Nonsurgical,” “Endodontic Practice” and ‘Saving the Natural Denti- tion.” In addition, plenty of presentations were (and still are!) being offered right on the exhibit hall floor. Also on the show floor, a number of companies are launching new products and technology. Among them is Brassel- er USA (booth No. 625), which is introduc- ing its new XP-3D shaper and finisher to specialists at this year’s meeting. During an in-booth interview Wednes- day morning, Mike McLaughlin told Endo Tribune that XP-3D, consisting of a Mary Matalin and James Carville talk politics during the AAE General Session Wednesday afternoon. Audience members were encouraged to interact with the surgi- cal team throughout the live demon- strations, which were moderated by Dr. Frank Setzer. Education here in New Orleans contin- ues through Saturday with a wide vari- ety of offerings. Among the many high- lights for today: “Lasers in Endodontics: Is it Time to Embrace this Technology? A Hands-On Workshop,” presented by Jus- tin Kolnick, BDS, from 8 a.m. to noon in Room 255; and “What Can We Learn from Recalls Up to 20 Years Utilizing 2-D and 3-D Imaging,” presented by Dr. Robert Grover and Dr. Nikhil Reddy, from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. in Room 354. In addition, the popular poster re- search and table clinics are being pre- sented in the exhibit hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
