n In addition to its tried-and-tested functions, the new generation of Im- plantmed offers its users a unique sys- tem for assessing the stability of an implant, customisable features that can be retrofitted if required, as well as a high-tech, intuitive user interface and an even more powerful motor. Even difficult procedures can be performed with less effort, and great precision, thanks to a motor torque of 6.2 Ncm and a speed of 200 to 40,000 rpm. The new device also has the shortest surgical motor on the market. The ergo- nomically shaped and perfectly bal- anced combination of motor and W&H contra-angle handpiece allows the user to work for extended periods without fatigue affecting the hands. In addition, the five new straight and contra-angle surgical handpieces with LED+ now fully illuminate the sur- gical site regardless of the motor speed. The high-quality stainless steel with its scratch-resistant coating mean that the surgical straight and contra-angle hand- pieces have a particularly long service life and are very sturdy. The optional W&H Osstell ISQ (Implant Stability Quotient) module for the new Implantmed makes assessing the success of the treatment safer and more reliable. The stability value meas- ured by the device helps improve the success rate and is a form of quality as- surance, according to W&H. The module is an optional extra and can also be eas- ily retrofitted to the new Implantmed, the company also said. When the documentation func- tion is enabled, all implant insertion val- ues, such as defined device parameters, the implant insertion curve, the Osstell ISQ measurement and basic data such as the documentation ID and tooth posi- tion, can be saved to a USB stick. Fur- thermore, the new Implantmed’s user interface helps the dental practice team to streamline the treatment steps as they are simpler, take less time and are more efficient. Important information for a particular step of the procedure is clearly visible on a large touch screen. The Implantmed can be customised for up to six users, making it ideal for improved efficiency in group practices. The redesigned coolant pump also helps make the surgical device especially easy to operate and prep times are even faster. The irrigation tubing can be in- serted very easily, quickly and above all safely even under sterile conditions. 7 W&H, Austria www.wh.com Booth 29 AEEDC Dubai 2017 16 business W&H introduces next Implantmed generation Fully crystalized glass-ceramic on display at Straumann n Straumann has made significant con- tributions to the field of dental implants for over six decades. Through pioneer- ing innovation, the company has re- defined the boundaries of possibility for dental professionals and patients. Building on these years of experience, Straumann has developed a new glass-ceramic material. The n!ce com- bines new biocompatible and aestheti- cally attractive materials with the goal to create novel, fully crystallised mill- ing blocks for dental professionals. n!ce is a lithium aluminosilicate ce- ramic reinforced with lithium disilicate and is certified in accordance with ISO 6872:2015, type II, class 2. This high-tech, glass-ceramic solution from Straumann is supposed to deliver fast, aesthetic restorations and meet the ex- pectations of patients and dental pro- fessionals. As its name suggests, n!ce is pleasantly simple and very reliable. With the glass-ceramic blocks dentists will benefit from the Straumann quality assurance, faster turnaround time and increased efficiency, the company said. They are also going to benefit from greater patient satisfaction, as n!ce glass-ceramic is able to restore patients’ natural appearance. Dentists can count on the reliability of tooth restorations performed with a CAD/CAM material backed by the Straumann brand. Their high-quality, fully crystallised material guarantees a precise fit with very smooth margin lines, combined with strength and lon- gevity that feels comfortable and nat- ural. The n!ce glass-ceramic range re- quires no additional capital investment in hardware or software, as the mate- rial can easily be processed using standard milling equipment. Milling and handling are easy thanks to the unique consistency of the n!ce material. With its smooth surface finish and margin lines, the milled ele- ment can simply be polished to achieve a high-gloss restoration. Restorations can be milled, polished and fixed with- out additional crystallisation firing. The fine glass-ceramic crystals fulfil the highest aesthetic requirements and are particularly user-friendly and safe to process, according to Straumann. N!ce restorations can be seated using either adhesive or self-adhesive cementation. They can simply be pol- ished, or stain and glaze can be applied if more pronounced characterisation is wished. The n!ce range is available in high translucency and low translucency. Both translucencies are available in shades Bleach, A1, A2, A3, B2 and B4 to perfectly match the VITA tooth guide shades. 7 Straumann, Switzerland www.straumann.com Booth 7C10
