As a signature habit, the 28-year-old Curry,whoplaysfortheGoldenState Warriors team, removes and chews on his mouthguard whenever he is abouttoshootafreethrow. This was the first time one of Curry’s game-used mouthguards from his special 2015–16 season was offered publicly. The flexible rubber mouth- guard was custom-made to fit Cur- ry’s teeth. It was specially designed with the Golden State Warriors logo on the left and “#30 CURRY” on both sides built into the molded material. Curry’sbitemarkswereevident. According to the auction house, the mouthpiece was acquired by the consignor after a December road game. His seat was close to the War- riorsbenchandthemouthguardwas apparently left behind under one of the team’s courtside chairs after the game. AttheendofAugust,afanpurchased themouthguardfor$3,189.60.
