In order to help their patients achieve optimum and sustainable oral health, dental profes- sionals need to have thorough know- ledge of cleaning techniques, of the ap- propriate tools and ultimately of how to motivate their patients. Communica- tion with the patient and within the dental team too is key. Curaden offers simple and practical training to the dental staff, who can then apply this approach to modern dental hygiene and thus provide an effective preven- tion technique to their patients. Four dental hygienists from four continents On 23 June from 18 to 19.30, an expert team from Curaden will pro- vide insights into the success of mod- ern prophylaxis during the ISDH in Basel in Switzerland. In a workshop open to all Symposium attendees, four dental hygienists from four con- tinents will present the advantages of iTOP (individually trained oral proph- ylaxis). The workshop can accommo- date only 150 participants. With this international advanced education system, Curaden has made decisive progress towards establishing meth- ods for good mechanical plaque con- trol among dentists, dental hygienists and patients. The workshop is aimed at both novice and experienced den- tal professionals. In addition to prac- tical knowledge and short exercises using the touch to teach-method, the panel discussion will present useful information for the easy integration of iTOP into everyday practice. Registered dental hygienists Bar- bara Derham (Ireland), Elna van der Ham (South Africa), Gisèle Choquette (Canada) and Edith Maurer (Switzer- land) are scheduled to speak at the workshop. The presenters are all well known for their substantial practical experience and expertise in their re- spective fields. They will provide tips on implementing iTOP in order to achieve the ambitious goal of good oral health for a lifetime. After the presentation, a cock- tail evening hosted by Curaden at Bar Rouge will offer partici- pants further oppor- tunity for discus- sion.
