38 roots 2 2016 Meeting review: AAE16 in San Francisco Dental professionals from across the country and around the world gathered in San Francisco April 6to9for AAE16, the annual meeting of the Amer- icanAssociationofEndodontists.Therewasplenty of excitement at Moscone Center West. The meet- ing offered attendees a great opportunity to learn, to explore new products and services, and to con- nect with fellow specialists. Alotofplanningwasputintothisyear’smeeting, accordingtoAAEPresidentTerrylA.Propper.“Iwant all of our attendees to return to their practices, schools or residencies with new enthusiasm and ideas to provide the best patient care and support the specialty,” Propper said, in a press release an- nouncing the meeting. There was plenty to learn at the meeting—and plenty of ways to learn. CE credit was available by attending the many lectures and workshops, plus thegeneralsession,submittedpresentations,poster research and table clinics, and even “CE Express” mini lectures. “Not everyone learns in the same way, so we’re excitedtointroducenewprogrammingthisyearto meet the needs of all attendees,” said Propper. This year two new educational tracks—Interdisci- plinaryCareandDerailment—wereadded.TheInter- disciplinaryCaretrackoffereddifferentperspectives on orofacial pain, otolaryngology and pharmacol- ogy.Derailmentdelvedintothingsthatcangowrong each day—from managing material extrusion, to removing broken or separated instruments. On the exhibit hall floor, more than 100 compa- niesshowcasedthelatestinendodonticequipment, materials and supplies.
