Introduction OrthoPulse is a clinically proven device that uses low levels of light energy to stimulate the periodon- tium and alveolar bone surrounding the roots of the teeth and facilitate tooth movement which may re- duce treatment time. OrthoPulse uses safe, low intensity near infra-red light(850 nmwavelength)tofacilitateboneremodel- ling on a molecular level without any adverse effects. ThisistheonlydeviceofitskindclearedbytheUSFDA for use with both fixed appliances or clear aligners. Case presentation Patient diagnosis A24-year-oldfemalepresentedwithClassIocclu- sion, a deep bite, and crowding along with a narrow maxillaryandmandibulararchform(Fig.1).Herright muscles of mastication, including the lateral ptery- goid, were tender upon palpation. Incisors were asymmetrical due to bruxism. Treatment goal The patient was prescribed with Invisalign treat- ment to align teeth, broaden both arch forms to fill buccal corridors and improve upper cuspid torque.
