15 ACTIVE Tribune n „4. Sudański Międzynarodowy Sto- matologiczny Obóz Wolontariacki i program TNT/SRT” Odliczanie do kolejnego projektu wo- lontariackiego właśnie się rozpoczęło! Sudanese Association of Dental Stu- dents (SADS) wraz z International Asso- ciation of Dental Students (IADS) pragnie zaprosić wszystkich studentów stoma- tologii do udziału w  przyszłorocznym (2016) obozie, który odbędzie się w dn. 15-30 stycznia 2016 r. w Chartumie. W tym właśnie celu powstał projekt „Training of New Trainers(TNT)/Sub-Regional Training Program (SRT)”. „W  imieniu wszystkich, chciałabym ciepło powitać was wszystkich w  sło- necznym Sudanie, oraz życzyć nieza- pomnianych wrażeń”. Fatima Abdelrahman Koordynator Spraw Międzynarodowych Tłumaczenie: Radosław Borek n “The 4th Sudan International Den- tal Volunteer Convoy & TNT/SRT Pro- gram” The countdown for the next Volun- tary project is officially begin, the Su- danese Association of Dental Students (SADS), together with the International Association of Dental Students (IADS), welcomes all dental students and young dentist to be part of this great 2016 pro- ject. To be held from 15 to 30 January in Khartoum, Sudan. We all believe that charity work is the way to reach down and lifting people up, help the community, the way to get work experience, learn new skills and advan- ce your career. Sudan is a great place for adventuro- us volunteers, and SADS had a matter of great interest in the field of voluntary work since it was established; though organizing hundreds of dental field trips around rural areas in Sudan. In the international level, and as a country under the IADS we were hono- ured to host three international voluntary camps, in 2006, 2011 and the success- ful convoy in 2013. The impact of those volunteers has been highly remarkable and significant, where we reached more than 3000 patients in each of the previo- us camps. Dental voluntary projects are great to reach people in need and help con- necting dentist and dental students with their communities. In this 2016 project, we are targeting a primary oral health care with the goal of providing dental care in isolated and unserved regions, it include giving dental education star- ting from simple basic dental facts. They also receive clinical dental care they ne- ver had before, providing by dentist and supervised dental students, including examination, diagnosis and treatment. Which itself in many situations result in early detection and diagnosis of dental illness and oral cancer cases where early detection make the whole diffe- rence. The students will be able to contri- bute during the dental camp in the follo- wing activities: l Outpatient clinic: Examination and screening of patients, taking medical history and transferring to other clinics to complete the treatment process. l Surgery clinic: Simple and complex extraction, abscess drainage and su- turing. l Periodontology clinic: Periodontal scaling by instruments and ultrasonic, giving oral hygiene instruction. l Health education: For the people in the camp location, in schools and lo- cal markets. l Conservative clinic: Cavity prepara- tion, amalgam and composite fillings, a traumatic restorative treatment. l Sterilization and infection control. l Pharmacy. To achieve all of this, it's really ne- cessary to enrich the skills that help to influence people and collaborate effectively, these skills not only streng- then your personality, but also indulge positive energy in human relationships for working in symbiosis and explore infinite capabilities at institutional and doctoral level, nevertheless teaching these skills need a professional level of experience and application to be able to competently plan, implement and eva- luate training activities in different fields and contests. Here we come to the other part of the project, the Training of New Trainer- s(TNT)/ Sub-Regional Training (SRT) program. It's an inspirational, empowe- ring learning experience for trainers to fulfil the perceived need related to de- velopment and/or improvement of their training culture through sharing expe- riences and exchanging knowledge. The TNT is a three days workshop designed in topics related to soft skills, such as leadership skills, project ma- nagement, stress management, time management, fundraising, communica- tion skills and presentational skills. After which a 2 days SRT run for the newly graduated to get the chance to practice and apply giving sessions to trainees, then comes the application of the acqu- ired personal skills and taking respon- sibility of creating positive social impact through the dental voluntary convoy. “On the behalf of everyone, I would like to warmly welcome you all Poland friends in the sunny land of Sudan, and wish you all unforgettable experience” Fatima Abdelrahman Foreign Affair Coordinator Zaproszenie do Sudanu An invite to Sudan
