I 43implants4_2015 varioustrainingprogrammeshavealwaysreflected the newest scientific findings and these have been provided for the benefits of its members who in- clude dental technicians as well as highly engaged dentists. Against this backdrop, Prof. Deppe is con- vinced:“Ourmembersprofitfromthewealthofsci- entificexperienceourassociationiskeenandableto provide as Europe’s oldest association of dental im- plantology”. However, having reached the 45th anniversary does not mean the DGZI will stand still: it has com- pletelyreviseditscurriculumandhasincludedsince 2014 E-learning modules as well as theoretical and practical training programs. Due to those improve- ments the membership has doubled. The success- fullycompletedcurriculumcanalsoserveasafoun- dation for a subsequent master study programme (MSc). The DGZI’s education programme offers in- formation about all the activities available regard- ing dental and, in particular, implantological train- ingopportunities.Theprogrammeisyearlyupdated in print and online and also available in the English language.Recognisedbytheconsensusconference, the qualification “Implantology” is awarded by the DGZI after certain requirements have been fulfilled andthecurriculumcompleted.Additionally,asProf. Deppe pointed out, the DGZI also pays great atten- tiontotheimportanceofindividualsupportandad- viceandoffersspecialratesforstudents,youngpro- fessionals and assistants. Furthermore, the society’s strengths include the publicationofitsspecialisedjournals.Sinceitscom- plete relaunch earlier in 2015, “Implantology Jour- nal” is the most circulated specialist implantology journal in the German-speaking market. With ten editions a year and a circulation of 15,000 copies, it alsoincludesCMEarticlesandwebinars.Inaddition, the international magazine “implants” is published four times a year and presents practice-related ar- ticles in the English language. AsscientificheadandVicePresidentoftheDGZI, Prof. (CAI) Dr Roland Hille introduced the particu- larities of this year’s congress. Dentists from more thantendifferentnationsandthreecontinentsvis- ited the Wiesbaden venue, most of them from part- nersocietiesinJapan,GeorgiaandEgypt.Morethan 30 speeches, 40 speakers and seven workshops comprised the programme of the two congress days. Fourty companies presented their products at the dental exhibition.
