7 DentalTribune Israel Edition Fig 4 Periapical radiographs of a 5 × 8-mm HA-coated Bicon implant in the mandibular left posterior area restored with an integrated abutment crown. Note the gradual crestal bone gain around the spherical base of the abutment between crown insertion (2001) and the recall appointments (2003, 2005, and 2007). The patient was taking 162.5 mg of acetylsalicylic acid for cardiovascular prevention and 800 to 1,600 mg of ibuprofen for arthritic pain daily. Fig 5 Periapical radiographs of two 5- × 6-mm HA-coated Bicon implants in the maxillary left posterior area restored with integrated abutment crowns. An internal sinus elevation procedure with beta tricalcium phosphate (Synthograft, Bicon) was done on the day of implant placement because the available bone was limited by the proximity of the maxillary sinus. Note the significant crestal bone gain observed on the mesial side of the implant in the second premolar position after crown insertion. This patient was taking 325 mg of acetylsalicylic acid daily during the 4 years of follow-up. Implant tribune
