daily AAO San Francisco May 18

exhibitors Ortho Tribune U.S. Edition | May 18, 201516 By Carestream Dental Staff T he CS 8100SC* scanning cepha- lometric imaging system, first introduced earlier this month at the CDA Presents in Anaheim, is built on the award-winning technology of the CS 8100 panoramic system and al- lows practitioners to add digital cepha- lometric imaging to their practice for more diagnostic capabilities. New scanning cephalometric unit to enhance diagnostic capabilities In addition to its compact design, the system features the fastest scanning times of any cephalometric unit on the market — up to 80 percent faster, ac- cording to the company. Short exposure times reduce patient dose and the risk of motion blur, making it an ideal unit to use with young patients. Practitioners have the option to choose from two scanning modes, including a high-resolution mode for the highest image quality and a fast-scan mode for exposure time that is more than twice as fast. With a full range of image formats, the CS 8100SC can be an ideal unit for every day orthodontic and oral surgery needs, according to the company. Up to three image sizes can be selected, from 26 x 24 cm, 18 x 24 cm to 18 x 18 cm. Clinicians also have the option to choose from a va- riety of views, including lateral, oblique, frontal (AP/PA) and carpus,** to capture consistently clear images. The unit includes two sensors as a standard: one for cephalometric and one for panoramic imaging. Because of this design, there is no need to change the sensor between examinations, reducing manipulation and preventing the risk of damage to the unit. Advanced Carestream Dental imaging software has the ability to recognize ana- tomical structures and trace them auto- matically, making the CS 8100SC capable of offering automatic tracing. Covering the most common analysis needs (in- cluding McNamara, Ricketts, Steiner and Tweed), the software editor also allows practitioners to personalize tracings and to create customized templates for im- proved treatment planning. “The CS 8100SC is an efficient tool for doctors who don’t want to sacrifice valu- able practice space for cephalometric imaging,” Edward Shellard, DMD, vice president, global sales and marketing, Carestream Dental, said. “Because of the unit’s powerful performance and small size, doctors are now able to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments right in their office, rather than referring their patients to imaging centers.” The system’s advanced technology combines an all-new 4T CMOS sensor, state-of-the-art scanning technology and generator to provide practitioners with high-quality images. Orthodontic pre-set filters optimize the visualization of hard and soft tissues with just one click, while the CS Adapt module allows for even greater custom- ization of an image’s look and feel to suit a clinician’s personal preferences. *Work in progress — not available for sale **Available as an option Ad Here at the AAO Learn more about the CS 8100CS in booth No. 1605.
