business30 IDS 2015 – 12. Traditional corticotomy tech- niquesarerarelyusedowingtotheir invasive nature. The introduction of Piezo ultrasonic surgical devices has replaced these traditional sur- gerieswithminimallyinvasivetreat- ments. Piezocision assisted technique is the combination of micro-surgical incisions performed with ultrasonic generators, bone densification, as well as orthodontic tooth movement. ACTEON has developed four exclu- sive tips, perfectly adapted to the Piezocision technique. Scientific studies are currently available on this new technique. Partnering with R&D, clinicians and universities, ACTEON has cre- ated a new protocol. Post-operative pain is significantly reduced while thesurgeryismuchshorter(45min- utes for both arches as opposed to three hours previously*), according to the company. Overall time for or- thodontic treatment can be also de- creased (3–4 times faster**) . ACTEON say that the use of ultra- sonics and their hemostatic effects (through cavitation) offers unbeat- able surgical benefits and reduces bleeding. The tips create micro-inci- sions and the modulated frequency vibrations preserve soft tissue (se- lective cut). Moreover, scientific studies have also demonstrated the stimulating effect of ACTEON Piezo- tome ultrasonic devices on bone growthanddensification***during the healing period. The surgery is safer and the bone regeneration is promoted. Since the lustre pastes can be used for ceramics with both high and low coefficient of thermal ex- pansion, they can be com- bined with the complete GC Initial ceramic portfolio. GC Initial Lustre Pastes NF Gum Shades are available from January 2015. The five pastes in gingivalshadescanbecombinedwith four mixable gingival modifiers that enable unlimited creativity in imitat- ing natural gum colours. Initial Lustre Pastes NF Gum Shades are available in ready-to-use jars for a convenientapplication andtogether with dilution and refreshing liquids that ensure an ideal thixotropy until the end of the application process.
