The center was established in early 2005 when four spe- cialists in oral implantology developed a common pro- tocol with good results to demonstrate that in cases in which the diameter of the pillar is smaller than the diameter of the implant bone loss is ostensibly lower. This research, titled “Benefits of an Implant Platform Modification Technique to Reduce Cre- stal Bone Resorption,” was published in Implant Den- tistry in 2006. Since then, they have lectured world- wide and have produced and collaborated on a num- ber of publications. He is an associ- ate professor at the Euro- pean University of Madrid in Spain and is co-founder of the BORG Center. — Dr. Victor Méndez obtained his degree in den- tistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He has private practices in Madrid, Lleida and Barcelona. Since joining the Borg Center in 2008, he has lectured at prominent national and international symposiums.
