Dr Boutros: The first step in becoming a Fellow in theAcademyofOsseointegrationistojointheAcad- emy as an Active member. Individuals may not enter the Academy as a Fellow. The following prerequisites are required of applicants: First, the applicant must be a qualified DMD/DDS /PhD or equivalent, with a minimum of ten years ac- tively involved in dentistry in either a clinical or re- search setting or working in an implant-related aca- demicpositionforaminimumofthreedaysperweek (excluded is a post-graduate training/research). Second, the applicant must be a member of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) for five consecu- tive years.
