SHOFU’s universal direct aes- thetic restorative Beautifil In- jectable was developed with a unique resin micro-structure that is said to offer mechanical proper- ties for remarkable performance even in load bearing areas. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the paste has ideal vis- cosity and a non-tacky, non-droopy consistency for restorations that can be easily shaped as cli - nicians extrude the ma - terial from the syringe. Having optimised the filler-matrix complex, Beautifil Injectable con- trols light diffusion within itself in such a way that is mimics the optical characteris- tics of natural teeth. A member of the Giomer family of restoratives, Beautifil Injectable also contains S-PRG fillers to pro- vide continuous fluoride protec- tionanduniqueantiplaqueeffect. It is available in 2.2 gram syringes that have disposable needle tips for cross infection control. SHOFU has also introduced BeautiSealant last year which is supposed to eliminate the need for a conventional phosphoric acid etchant completely. Based on SHOFU’s proprietary S-PRG tech- nology with specially developed fluoride charged S-PRG fillers for a better anti-cariogenic effect, the product seals deep grooves and fissures. Sustained release and recharge of fluoride provides all round protection, particularly during the caries-prone years, the company said. The sealant comes with a self- etch primer containing dual ad - hesive monomers that penetrate into the pits and fissures on order to prime the tooth surface for an effective chemical bond to the sealant with minimal damage to enamel. According to SHOFU, the exclusion of HEMA in the formu - lation prevents hydrolysis at the bonding interface thus pro- viding long-term stability and retention. An efficient, non-drip, fuss-free syringe design and an extra fine 27 gauge needle tip allows precise delivery of the smooth, bubble-free sealant withoutthegroovesgetting overfilled.Beautifilisavail- able as a set and refills. SHOFU DENTAL ASIA-PACIFIC, SINGAPORE www.shofu.com.sg Booth 4A-10 Dental products “Made in France” are on display at level 6, where FFDM-Thomas is currently presenting a variety of dental instruments like dental implant drills and endodontic files. More- over, the manufacturer from Bourges in the heart of France is showcasing dental trephines of the Thomas brand which can be used to remove bone around den- tal implants safely. According to FFDM, the instru- ments have sharpened blades made of stainless steel that in- crease the cutting efficiency for a non-traumatic treatment. They also feature depth marks in order to allow clinicians to accurately control the drilling depth. The company recommends to use the trephines on a contra angle in order to reach the required rota- tional speed of 500 to 800 rpm. Another specialty of FFDM is the production of dental implant drills that the company designs according to the specifications and needs of implant companies. According to the company, they offer an excellent resistance to the corrosion owing to the ma- chining of many stainless steel grades as well as high cutting power. Owing to the expertise of over 10 years of development, FFDM is now able to manufacture implant drills with complex shapes, in- cluding conical, cylindrical and shaped. Coatings, heat and surface treatments, laser marking, colour identification are other fields the company says to have mastered. Besidesitscomprehensiverange of products for dental implan- tology, the company also offers a number of endodontic products including files that are sold un- der the Thomas brand. Available in manual or in contra-angle ver- sions, they can be used to clean, to disinfect and to shape the root canals when they are infected by bacterium, the company said. Theycomeeitherinstainlesssteel or nickel titanium, a shape mem- ory alloy. For the clinical challenge of removing posts from root canals prior to endodontic retreatment, the company now offers the Uni- versal Post Remover, a modified version of its proven GONON post remover. With this new version, the company said clinicians will beabletoeasilyremovethemajor- ity of posts (posts, screw posts, fiber posts) that are currently available in the market without riskingtheintegrityoftheremain- ing tooth structure.
