In dentistry, they have provided us with powerful tools for diagnosis, treatment planning and communication. As computers are becoming an essential part of state- of-the-art patient care, clinicians muststayuptodatewiththisrapidly developingfieldinordertomakein- formed choices in their use of tech- nology. When applied effectively, clini- cal software can help to improve ef- ficiencyandpatientsatisfactiontoa large degree. Digital photography, high-definition video and advanced presentation software, for example, allowustodesignavirtualaesthetic treatment plan. With the Internet, there is the possibility of sharing and reproducing any design with any device that runs the same soft- ware.Moreover,theever-increasing storagecapacityinthisvirtualworld allows access to information from anywherearoundtheclockthrough Internet-capable devices, such as laptops and tablet computers. Com- municationandconnectivityarethe new cornerstones of modern dental practice.
