business 39Show Preview IDS Cologne 2009 At IDS, Otto Leibinger will showcase a newly designed set of high quality Osteotomes devel- oped for the lateral bone condensation of the closed sinus elevation technique. The set consists of straight and bayonet/an- gulated Osteotomes available in six sizes and with either pointed, convex or concave tips. They are also available with stop and adjusting screw which comes in five diameters and with convex and concave tips only. The bayonet angulated version is meant for the use in the lateral upper jaw region or in maxillary areas that are difficult to reach. The ergonomically shaped handle fits very well into the hand and allows a non-tiring working experience over a long period. A serration on the front part of the handle prevents the in- struments from slipping while using it with gloves or sweaty hands. With the same type of handle there is also a set of Chisels for bone splitting available. The Chisels come in two di- ameters of 4 and 7.5 mm and in a straight and curved version. The new line of Osteotomes aims to complete Leibinger’s offer of instruments for implantol- ogy. They are highly appreciated by customers all over the world, the company says. According to the company, the abrasive-free tip facilitates contouring the cervical margin and produces an optimal deep chamfer to meet the require- ments for all-porcelain restorations. The diam- eter 015 of the successful 879SE instrument additionally facilitates circumferential prepa- ration of premolars and molars and reduces the time required for preparation. The two longer instruments will be complemented by the shorter torpedo shape 878 with diameters of 012 and 015 that allows optimal deep cham- fer preparation even in the dorsal region of the molars and restricted access to the mouth.
