WithHarmonicShadesfrom Hoffmann it becomes possible to choose a colour of a restora- tion to match the remaining teeth similar to ‘try in’ composites through trying out the colour before the final cementation. The new cement will be pre- sented at IDS 2009, the com- pany has announced. Impres- sion compound (Stents), gutta- percha stopping, shellac base plates, adhesive wax, copal varnish and silane will be other products on display. Hoffmann Dental Manufaktur is a renown spe- cialist for high-quality luting and lining cements on zinc phosphatebasis.Thecompany started business 117 years ago with only a hand-fired coke oven. The first 100 portions of zinc phosphate cement were officially traded on 12th Febru- ary 1892. Up to today the raw material mixture is filled into saggers per hand, before a computer controlled high per- formance oven burns them to hard cement blocks. After burning, a three stage grind- ing process is needed to achieve the ideal grain size distribution. Hardly any other material has an equally long and success- ful clinical record in dental practice. Only fine particle cements with a film thickness of max. 25 μm are pro- duced. Hoffmann Dental Manufaktur has 3,000 sqm of production area based in the vibrant heart of the Ger- man capital Berlin. They sup- ply dental retailers in 52 coun- tries around the world. According to the company, the system will feature all benefits of the former ENA- MEL plus HFO system but, at the same time, was improved up from the delivery syringe to the material itself. ThisnewUniversalEnamel shade will be the first com- posite to match the refrac- tive index of natural enamel. Therefore, making invisible margins will be much easier. It also wears similar to na- tural tooth structure to al- low restorations made from ENAMEL plus HRi ‘age’ at the same rate as the natural tooth structure that’s surrounds it. The new syringe was er- gonomically designed and is clearly marked with the mate- rial contents. In addition, the inside of the syringe barrel forms now a perfect cylinder to reduce additional stress on the material that is being ex- pressed. With the increasing num- ber of patients who are re- questing tooth bleaching or have already bleached their teeth, two new lighter shades of dentin are available to match even the whitest of teeth. These shades are UD 0.5 and UD 0. The company says even with the these twoadditionalshades, dentist will still need fewer total shades with ENAMEL plus HRi than with other systems on the market. The system gives dentists the ability to easily create restorations of any shade that are essentially ‘clones’ of natural teeth, they added.
