business 33Show Preview IDS Cologne 2009 CSN Industrie from Italy is going to present the is the high resolution CCD intraoral sensor RX2HP, as well as the latest evolution of its own surgical micromotor New Assistant at IDS Cologne. The RX2HP’s advanced technology enables dentists to produce very high resolu- tion images while reducing the X-ray dose ex- posed to the patient, the company says. The in- tegrated fibre optic layer protects the micro- processor and drives light from the scintillator directly to the CCD surface, with a real grey transfer of 16 bit. In addition, the single-motor unit New Assis- tant has been completely re-designed and will offer many new features, such as a new foot- control which makes it more heavy and stable onanykindofsurface.Itsnewperistalticpump is ergonomic and compatible with all main irri- gation lines available on the market, the com- pany says. The motor has been enhanced and runs not only quieter but also more powerful. The programme selection and storage of six customised programms have been kept, while the new technologically advanced electronics allows more performing controls for torque and reverse functions. CSN Industrie designs and produces high quality products for the field of X-ray imaging. Besides their HF/DC X Ray System, Digital X Ray Sensor, they also offer illumination ceiling lamps, implantology equipment and other de- vices for the dental practice, such as X-ray viewers, amalgam mixers, or glass beads hy- gieniser. The precision and care the company applies to the elaboration of their products is strictly in accordance to the most restrictive safety standards. This allows CSN Industrie to apply the CE mark to all their products includ- ing CE 0434 on class II medical devices. NSK has announced to have succeeded to combine LEDs to all existing light turbines in dental surgery with its new LED turbine couplings (connection for NSK and KaVo*). The efficiency and light quality of the NSK LED is superior to halogen light because its colour temperature is comparable with day- light, the company says. The system combines a fibre-optic light guide with the LED light source to optimise the central alignment of the light cone on the grinding tool. According to the manufacturer, the new NSK LED couplings will make it attractive for dentists to change over to LED turbine in- struments. The advantage of this advanced technology are the user-friendliness and its low investment costs, they added. * KaVo is a registered trademark of KaVo Den- tal GmbH, Germany.
