TePe’s original inter- dental brushes are available in eight sizes to fit narrow as well as wider interdental spaces. The origin of the company goes back over 40 years when wood-carver Henning Eklund, as a patient, visited the Center for Oral Health Sciences in Malmö. In collaboration with two professors, he developed TePe’s first product—a triangu- lar wooden dental stick. Later theyweremanufacturingtooth- brushes and by now, every fourthtoothbrushpurchasedin Sweden is from TePe. In the 1990’s TePe Inter- dental Brushes were developed and with them selling products abroad began. The patent- ed direct laser fabrication process of these implants is a revolutionary man- ufacturing tech- nique to enable the production of models with precisely de- finedstructures and proportions based on 3-D virtual data, the company says. A model is finally produced bysinteringnano-par- ticlesofmetalpowder with a focused laser beam. The resulting surface is characterised by a large number of intercommuni- cating cavities that better interlock with the surface of the bone.
