According to the company, not only does the exhibition serve as Zap’s introduction to the European market, it also marks the start of the com- pany’s search for more interna- tional distributors. “We sell our lasers direct in the United States, but work with a market-expert distribu- tor in some Asian countries,” says Zap Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Alex Di Sessa. “Their expertise has earned us great growth and weunderstandthat to emulate the same success in Europe, we need a partner who under- stands the European market’s nuances and needs.” Zap has been manufacturing and distributing soft-tissue la- sers for more than 10 years and offers a wide selection of lasers for both general dentists and specialists. Since its introduc- tion in the US in May 2008, the Styla, for example, has become one of the industry’s best-sel- ling soft-tissue lasers. This first completely wire-free microlaser boasts all of the power and func- tionality of its tabletop counter- parts in a 56 gram pen-like de- sign that is 20 times lighter than any other soft-tissue laser on the market, the company says. Styla, and its orthodontic counterpart, StylaOrtho, is just the latest in Zap’s line of soft-tis- sue lasers. As the photosen- sitizer has an extremely high affinity to bacterial mem- branes, the bacteria are in- stantly destroyed when the re- active oxygen specimens are formed. The technique is espe- ciallyusefulintheoralcavityas it disrupts the biofilm in which the bacteria are embedded. With FotoSan, CMS Dental from Denmark introduces a PAD system that is able to treat a wide range of in- dications including caries, endodontics, periodontics, periimplantitis, gingivitis, andpericoronitis.Anintrokitin- cludingtwoautoclavablecovers for the light head, blunt tips for surface treatment and long tips for more profound treatment andendodontics, will beavailabletovisi- tors of IDS for a budgetprice of 999 Euros.
