2 Local News Dental Tribune South African Edition - August 2013 Chris Jenkins The Poster and Case Presentation competition at the ITI Congress Southern Africa 2013 saw a total of 24 abstracts entered into the competition from doctors based across South Africa. Congratulations to Dr Lira Rahman for placing first in the poster competition and to Dr Howard Gluckman for his winning case presentation. A total of 14 posters were entered into the competition as finalists (which included case presentations not selected as finalists) and 7 case presentations were selected as finalists. The judging of both abstract types was conducted by a panel of international and local experts which included: Prof David Cochran (ITI President), Dr Anthony Sclar (key note speaker), Dr Steven Eckert (key note speaker), Dr Govindru Mohangri, Dr Paul van Zyl, Dr Gerrit Wyma and Dr Yusuf Jadwat. The finalists for the poster competition included: Dr M Abram, Dr J Welgemoed, Dr M Mothopi, Dr G Patterson (2 entries), Dr S Mpungose, Dr L Rahman, Dr A Siebold, Dr I Grundlingh, Dr L Feller, Dr J van der Merwe, Dr H Gluckman, Dr W Basson and Dr M Lekay-Adams. The case presentation finalists presented their cases to the judges as well as the audience at the ITI Congress on the first day.
