2 Local News Dental Tribune South African Edition - June 2013 Prof Francois de Wet - Deputy Chairperson of the School of Dentistry, U.P., and Head of the Department of Odontology A Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the University of Pretoria and the University of Adelaide, Australia, was signed during a visit of Prof Johann de Vries, Dean of the School of Dentistry at the University of Adelaide, to the School of Dentistry, University of Pretoria on Wednesday 27 April 2013. This MOC was initiated by Prof Francois de Wet (Deputy Chairperson of the School of Dentistry, U.P., and Head of the Department of Odontology) who has had ties with the University of Adelaide for a number of years. Prof de Wet has been lecturing to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students for short periods at Adelaide for the past 3 years, and has also been involved in the manufacturing of educational videos in collaboration with their Audio-visual department. The two deans of the Dental Schools, Prof At Ligthelm (UP) and Prof Johann de Vries (Adelaide) soon became enthusiastically involved, and after some discussions and negotiations, a Memorandum of Cooperation was developed. During the signing ceremony our Faculty of Health Sciences was represented by the Dean of Health Sciences, Prof Eric Buch. Also present were the two Dental Deans (Ligthelm and De Vries), as well as Prof de Wet.
