According to mectron, its inno- vative design and self-explaining er- gonomics are supposed to set new standardsintermsofuser-friendliness and practice hygiene, as in contrast to common devices, its ergonomic touch panelletstheusercontrolallfunctions fast and intuitive. Operating the de- vice is therefore possible without but- tons and control dials. Owing to the smooth surface, the multipiezo touch can also be cleaned and disinfected much easier than other devices. By balancing external factors and adjusting its power level automati- cally, the intelligent mectron piezo- electric ultrasound technology makes treatment more comfortable for both thedentistaswellasthepatient.Italso boats a special soft mode for extra gentle treatment power. The inte- gration of a 360° adjustable LED- light makes working with the multipiezo touch even easier, according to the company, as the source of light can be di- rectedrighttothespotofac- tivity, whichisaunique feature in the field of ultrasonic devices. The irrigation liquid container carrying 500 ml is illuminated by the holder and can be exchanged quickly and easily for maximum flexibility. A dedicated tap water connection is also optionally available when wa- ter is required as a coolant. With18differentinsertsforsupra- and subgingival scaling mectron says to currently offer one of the most ex- tensive ranges of ultrasound prophy- laxis inserts in dentistry. 7 MECTRON, ITALY www.mectron.com 26. - 28. 9. 2013 INCHEBA, a.s., Viedenská cesta 3-7, 851 01 Bratislava T +421-2-6727 2138 • F +421-2-6727 2201 • E sdd@incheba.sk www.incheba.sk SLOVAK DENTAL DAYS14th EXHIBITION OF STOMATOLOGY AND DENTAL TECHNICS AD n VDW’s latest product GUTTA- FUSION draws from the advan- tages associated with the use of gutta-percha. The carriers for the thermoplastic obturation of root canals are now made entirely of this material. The obturators have a stable core made of crosslinked gutta-percha, which remains sta- ble even when heated, and are coated with gutta-percha that flows evenly when heated to effec- tively achieve a dense, 3-dimen- sional filling. The obturator handle, specially designed to be used with tweezers as well as fingers, is sup- posedtoenabletheeasyapplication of obturators in molars. In addition, no other instrument is required to separate it. The obturators also have a high radiopacity, the company from Munich said. Good obturation results can be achieved thanks to the homogenous gutta-percha filling of the whole root canal system, including ramifi- cations, isthmi and the apex. The gutta-percha core simplifies the post space preparation proce- dureandthefillingcanbeeasily removed for retreatment. According to VDW, GUTTA- FUSION is compatible with most rotary NiTi systems. The suit- able obturator size can be deter- mined with a size verifier made of nickel-titanium. Obturators and reusablesizeverifiersareavailable in the sizes 20 to 55. GUTTAFUSION for RECIPROC obturators are particularly con- venient to use. The three obtu- rator sizes correspond with the instruments R25, R40 and R50. A size verifier is not required. For ortho- dontic purposes, the STL data can be further analysed in Planmeca Romexis 3D Ortho Studio module, where dental castanalysisandorthodontictreatment plan can be done in 3-D, according to Puhlin-Nurminen. The Planmeca ProMax 3D family is anintelligent,all-in-oneX-rayunitrange designed to obtain complete informa- tion on patient anatomy in the minutest detail. The units provide digital pano- ramic, extraoral bitewing, cephalomet- ric, and 3-D CBCT imaging, 3-D face photos and now also 3-D model scans. The wide selection of volume sizes allows optimising the imaging area according to a specific diagnostic task— always complying with the best prac- ticesofdentistryandtheALARA(aslow as reasonably achievable) principle to minimise radiation.
