Sincethelaunchofitsfirstinitiative with“charity:water”(phaseoutunsafedrinkingwater) on Jan. 1, ClearCorrect has raised more than $60,000, whichwillhelpabout3,000peoplegainaccesstoclean andsafedrinkingwater. Of the $60,000 raised so far, $36,555 has been al- located to funding the first five projects with charity water in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The funding will help create spring protections, rainwater catchmentsandlarge-scalegravity-fedwatersystems that will have dozens of distribution points to serve a largepopulation. These projects are planned for a mix of villages, schools and clinics with a strong focus on hygiene, sanitation training and community buy-in to ensure sustainabilityandpreventionofwater-bornediseases. “It is hard to believe that there are still people out there who don’t have safe drinking water.
