The advantages of PLVs include minimal reduction of enamel, superior aesthetic properties, great colour stability, and reliable bonding to the enamel. How- ever, failures of PLV treatment, such as the patient’s dissatisfaction with the aesthetic appearance and ceramicfracture,continuetotroublebothclinicians and patients. They stem from incorrect diagnosis, improper material selection, and defective tooth preparation.
